MARTA FILIPA SIMÕES
“I am a Portuguese microbiologist, currently working in Macau (China), with a special interest in astromycology, more specifically filamentous fungi. I am passionate about knowing how fungi can help us (more than what they already do) and understanding how they can become potential pathogens and a threat, both on Earth and in space. In my free time, I love going out to the movies, hiking, trying new dishes and different food, reading, listening to music, and watching Netflix.”

Assistant Professor at the State Key Laboratory of Lunar and Planetary Sciences (SKLPlanets), at the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST)
